Our Green Position Statement as a Wholesale Distributor for Green Products
As a responsible member of the Canadian Business Community and a wholesale distributor for green products, Terkis recognizes its responsibility to our environment. We realize that it is necessary to preserve natural resources in order to have a healthy future for the next generation.
- We are committed to constantly developing and expanding our product line of
environmentally-friendly products in order to be able to offer our customers a
complete line of alternative “green friendly” products. - Our goal is to source products that have a reduced environmental impact because
of what they are made of & how they are transported, stored, packaged and disposed. - We will source green friendly products that have as many of the following characteristics
as possible:- Products that are certified environmentally preferable by an independent third party.
- Be less polluting & minimize waste.
- Maximize the use of bio-based or recycled materials.
- Conserve energy and water & are made from renewable materials.
- Are compostable, or biodegradable.
- In Terkis work environment; we are working and will continue to work with our employees
to focus on:- Reducing waste & recycling wherever possible.
- Reusing materials at every opportunity.
- Repairing rather than throwing away where we can.
- EcoLogo and GreenSeal Banners are two “Green” certifications under which many of our products are certified. We are proud of these and the many other products we carry that are certified under different standards.
